What Data Scupe Collects

Scupe collects:

  • Visitor behavior

  • Visit metadata

  • Pageviews

  • Device/browser info

  • Referrer & UTM parameters

  • Identity data when matched (name, email, company, job title)

Data is encrypted and stored securely.

How Scupe Identifies Visitors

Scupe uses a combination of:

  • Behavioral signals

  • Technical identifiers

  • Publicly available enrichment data

Not all visitors can be identified due to:

  • VPNs

  • Private browsing modes

  • Privacy-focused browsers

  • Limited match signals

Updating Your Privacy Policy

Your privacy policy should clearly disclose the following:

  • Visitor Tracking: That your website collects data on visitor activity.

  • Data Collection: That certain visitor information may be collected and processed.

  • Third-Party Tools: That third-party services, such as analytics or marketing tools, may be used to collect or process data.

  • User Rights: How visitors can request access to, or deletion of, their personal data.

CCPA Basics

CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)

  • Consumer Rights: California residents can request to access, know, or delete the personal information collected about them.

  • Do Not Sell/Share: Certain “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” obligations may apply to your business.

  • Notice Requirements: You must provide clear notice at the point of data collection regarding your practices and any sharing or selling of personal information.

Data Deletion (Visitor)

If a contact requests their data be deleted from your database, please email us a privacy@scupe.ai and we will honor their request and delete their data.

This permanently removes the visitor from your Scupe account and data feed.

Safe Data Handling with Integrations

When using webhooks or other integrations, follow these best practices to protect your data and your users:

  • Use HTTPS Endpoints: Always ensure your webhook endpoints are secured with HTTPS.

  • Send Data Only to Trusted Tools: Only transmit information to secure, verified services.

  • Limit Sensitive Information: Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive data through webhooks

  • Restrict CRM Permissions: Keep user permissions in connected systems limited to only what’s needed.

  • Honor User Deletion Requests: Ensure that requests to delete user data are reflected in all connected systems.
